Many musicians are not even aware of the Harmonic Major Scale!
This scale produces wonderful sounds that must be explored.

Ionian b6 Family of Chords:

I chord =       C major             (4 note chord = C major 7th)
iio chord =    D diminished      (4 note chord = D minor 7th flat 5th)
iii chord =     E minor             (4 note chord = E minor 7th)
iv chord =     F minor             (4 note chord = F minor major 7th)
V chord =     G major             (4 note chord = G dominant 7th)
VI+ chord =  Ab augmented    (4 note chord = Ab major 7th sharp 5th)
viio chord =  B diminished      (4 note chord = B diminished 7th)

WS, WS, HS, WS, HS, WS+HS, HS
Notes are: C, D, E, F, G, Ab, B, C

Now record (or have a friend play) these common Ionian b6 progressions 5 to 10 minutes each and live (or on another track) play the Ionian b6 (C Harmonic Major) scale using quarter then eighth notes.

1. I //// iio //// //// viio //// I ////

2. I //// iv //// I //// V ////

3. iio //// V //// I ////

4.  I //// iv //// viio //// iii //// VI+ //// iio //// V ////

5. I //// iii //// viio //// iv //// I ////

Now transpose these to each position (register) of your instrument, then to all 15 keys.
