Harmonic Minor Modes - Ultralocrian - Mode 7

Great for the Diminished 7th chord!

Ultralocrian Family of Chords:

io chord =    B diminished     (4 note chord = B diminished 7th)
ii chord =     C minor           (4 note chord = C minor major 7) 
iiio chord =   D diminished   (4 note chord = D minor 7th flat 5th)
IV+ chord =   Eb augmented (4 note chord = E flat major 7th sharp 5th)
v chord =      F minor           (4 note chord = F minor 7th)
VI chord =    G major           (4 note chord = G dominant 7th)
VII chord =   Ab major          (4 note chord = Ab major 7th)

Scale Formulas: HS, WS, HS, WS, WS, HS, WS+HS,
Notes are: B, C, D, Eb, F, G, Ab, B

Now record (or have a friend play) these common Ultralocrian progressions 
5 to 10 minutes each and live (or on another track) play the Ultralocrian
(Mode 7 of Harmonic Minor) scale using quarter then eighth notes.

1. io //// IV+ //// v //// VI ////

2. io //// iiio //// VI //// v ////

3. v //// io //// iiio //// VI ////

4. io //// VI //// VII //// ii //// v ////




Now transpose these to each position (register) of your instrument, then to all 15 keys.
