Aeolian Family of Chords:
(large V = major chord - small v = minor chord)

i chord =     A minor 
iio chord =   B diminished
III chord =   C major
iv chord =    D minor
v chord =     E minor
VI chord =    F major
VII chord =   G major

Now record (or have a friend play) these common Aeolian progressions 5 to 10 minutes each and live (or on another track) play the A Aeolian scale using quarter then eighth notes.

A Aeolian scale = A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A

1. i //// VI //// VII //// i /////

2. i //// VI //// III //// VII////

3. i //// v //// VI //// VII ////

4. i //// iv //// VII /// III //// VI //// iio //// v //// ////

Also experiment creating your own variations and record them for your personal rhythm library.  

This mode is also known as Natural Minor scale or the Relative Minor scale.

Now transpose these to each position (register) of your instrument, then to all 15 keys.
